Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Auto and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Accton Technology Corp (TW:2345), which rose 9.97% or 7.10 points to trade at 78.30 at the close. Ta Jiang Co Ltd (TW:1453) added 9.94% or 0.86 points to end at 9.51 and Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) was up 9.71% or 1.70 points to 19.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645), which lost 9.96% or 4.80 points to trade at 43.40 in late trade. Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912) declined 6.18% or 11.00 points to end at 167.00 and Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) shed 5.75% or 1.15 points to 18.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 492 to 292 and 90 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.33% or 0.15 to $45.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.33 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 2.04 to trade at $1269.36 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.25% to 30.179, while TWD/CNY rose 0.13% to 0.2263.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 97.13.
