Browns Capital PLC, through its subsidiaries, operates in the plantations, hydropower, solar power, leisure, and real estate property sectors in Sri Lanka. It operates through Tea, Rubber, Renewable Energy, Timber, and Real Estate segments. The company is involved in the cultivation, manufacture, and sale of orthodox, CTC, and green tea, as well as rubber, coconut, cinnamon, and other agricultural products; and the cultivation and sale of timber trees. It owns the Maturata plantation with 19 tea estates covering an area of approximately 9,665 acres; and 3 rubber estates comprises approximately 983 acres. The company also builds, owns, operates, and maintains hydropower generation facilities; rents office premises; and constructs, owns, and operates boutique style hotels. In addition, it owns and operates a solar power plant with a capacity of 10 MW located in Buruthakanda, Hambantota of Sri Lanka. The company was formerly known as FLC Holdings PLC and changed its name to Browns Capital PLC in October 2015. The company was founded in 1992 and is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
