Austpac Resources N.L. is an Australia-based minerals technology company. The Company is focused on the development of technology to convert steel industry by-products, such as furnace dusts and waste chloride solutions into pig iron, zinc oxide and strong hydrochloric acid. It has also developed adjunct technologies to transform ilmenite into synthetic rutile, a feedstock for titanium metal and titanium dioxide pigment production. Its technologies include Enhanced Roasting and Magnetic Separation (ERMS roasting), ERMS SR roasting, Low Temperature Roasting and CLR. It also develops Newcastle iron recovery plants, including IRON education and EARS. ERMS roasting is a controlled roasting process, which conditions ilmenite for selective magnetic separation from gangue minerals. ERMS SR roasting is used for rapid leaching in hydrochloric acid to generate high grade synthetic rutile. The combination of its roasting, leaching and acid regeneration processes is termed the ERMS SR Process.
