Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 163.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 14.83% or 0.094 points to trade at 0.728 at the close. Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) added 10.73% or 0.280 points to end at 2.890 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 5.58% or 0.012 points to 0.227 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Public Power (AT:DEHr), which lost 6.09% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.16 in late trade. Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr) declined 2.34% or 0.22 points to end at 9.18 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) shed 1.83% or 0.5000 points to 26.8700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 40 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.81 to $1248.21 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.21% or 0.96 to hit $44.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.43% or 1.12 to trade at $47.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.00% to 1.1293, while EUR/GBP rose 0.53% to 0.8836.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.68% at 96.45.
