Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Electricity and Hotels sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Epistar Corp (TW:2448), which rose 9.98% or 3.10 points to trade at 34.15 at the close. Onano Industrial Corp (TW:6405) added 9.96% or 2.55 points to end at 28.15 and HiTi Digital Inc (TW:3494) was up 9.95% or 1.10 points to 12.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Y.C.C. Parts MFG Co Ltd (TW:1339), which lost 9.98% or 5.20 points to trade at 46.90 in late trade. Anji Technology Co Ltd (TW:6477) declined 9.03% or 2.05 points to end at 20.65 and Genius Electronic Optical Co Ltd (TW:3406) shed 8.77% or 49.00 points to 510.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 397 to 352 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.37% or 0.18 to $48.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.42% or 0.23 to hit $53.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.10 to trade at $1340.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.21% to 30.031, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.2167.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 92.17.
