Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Textile and Auto sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which rose 9.97% or 1.65 points to trade at 18.20 at the close. Alchip Technologies Ltd (TW:3661) added 9.97% or 7.20 points to end at 79.40 and Ta Liang Technology Co Ltd (TW:3167) was up 9.93% or 4.30 points to 47.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165), which lost 10.00% or 5.40 points to trade at 48.60 in late trade. Right Way Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1506) declined 9.92% or 2.40 points to end at 21.80 and Kuangli Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd (TW:6431) shed 7.17% or 0.95 points to 12.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 394 to 383 and 101 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.11% or 0.05 to $47.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.68 to trade at $1238.32 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 30.447, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2224.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.67.
