Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Staples and Banking sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Insurance, Services and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.28%, while the ADX General index declined 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 2.38% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.720 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 1.89% or 0.020 points to end at 1.080 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was up 1.46% or 0.020 points to 1.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 1.95% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.655 in late trade. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) declined 1.82% or 0.060 points to end at 3.230 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) shed 1.61% or 0.008 points to 0.488.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which rose 10.34% to 3.200, Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which was up 4.35% to settle at 9.60 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 3.87% to close at 1.61.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 5.96% to 2.680 in late trade, Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which lost 4.94% to settle at 2.31 and Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which was down 4.36% to 3.730 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 8 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.75% or 0.85 to $49.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.89% or 0.93 to hit $50.10 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.05% or 13.65 to trade at $1281.15 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.42% to 4.1592.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 93.80.
