Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.04%, while the ADX General index fell 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 2.59% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.514 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 1.84% or 0.030 points to end at 1.660 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 1.30% or 0.030 points to 2.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 2.42% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.605 in late trade. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 1.97% or 0.030 points to end at 1.490 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) shed 1.79% or 0.02 points to 1.10.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 14.58% to 0.550, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 6.52% to settle at 4.740 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 3.50% to close at 1.48.
The worst performers were Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 3.59% to 2.150 in late trade, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which lost 1.67% to settle at 0.590 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 1.27% to 0.7800 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 rose and 9 declined, while 9 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.15% or 0.51 to $44.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.44% or 0.67 to hit $47.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1341.45 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.13% to 4.1306.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 95.24.
