Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Insurance and Banking sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.61%, while the ADX General index gained 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 2.05% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.990 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 1.72% or 0.012 points to end at 0.711 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 1.38% or 0.020 points to 1.470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which lost 7.01% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.53 in late trade. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 3.60% or 0.040 points to end at 1.070 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) shed 2.98% or 0.140 points to 4.560.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which rose 5.71% to 2.220, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 4.35% to settle at 0.720 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which gained 2.63% to close at 0.7800.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 8.33% to 0.550 in late trade, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which lost 5.31% to settle at 1.070 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 3.70% to 0.260 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 13 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 7 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.47% or 0.30 to $63.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.33% or 0.22 to hit $67.07 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1334.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.06% to 4.5270.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 89.77.
