Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Sunday, as gains in the Banking, Insurance and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Transport and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.52% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index climbed 0.30%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 9.42% or 0.180 points to trade at 2.090 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 2.18% or 0.008 points to end at 0.375 and Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) was up 0.50% or 0.030 points to 6.080 in late trade.

Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 4.46% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.070 in late trade. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 3.76% or 0.03 points to end at 0.67 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) shed 2.89% or 0.022 points to 0.738.

The top performers on the ADX General were United Arab Bk (AD:UAB) which rose 14.46% to 1.900, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 5.33% to settle at 0.790 and Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) which gained 5.32% to close at 4.95.

The worst performers were Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 9.89% to 2.370 in late trade, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which lost 8.04% to settle at 1.030 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 7.14% to 0.260 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 fell and 9 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.14% or 0.07 to $51.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.75% or 0.43 to hit $56.73 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.41% or 5.23 to trade at $1283.47 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6726, while EUR/AED rose 0.25% to 4.3397.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 92.91.
