Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Transport, Consumer Staples and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.03%, while the ADX General index added 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC), which rose 1.63% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.373 at the close. Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) added 0.92% or 0.080 points to end at 8.780 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 0.42% or 0.010 points to 2.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which lost 6.03% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.73 in late trade. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 3.25% or 0.040 points to end at 1.190 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) shed 1.75% or 0.020 points to 1.120.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khaleej Investment Co PJSC (AD:KICO) which rose 14.59% to 2.12, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was up 12.50% to settle at 0.540 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 2.86% to close at 0.720.
The worst performers were Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 3.08% to 2.520 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 1.90% to settle at 1.0300 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which was down 1.67% to 5.30 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 7 and 11 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 8 rose and 6 declined, while 11 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.33% or 0.16 to $48.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.48% or 0.26 to hit $54.10 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 6.98 to trade at $1328.72 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.14% to 4.3843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 91.96.
