Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.76%, while the ADX General index lost 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 4.22% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.730 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 0.91% or 0.01 points to end at 1.11 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 0.52% or 0.020 points to 3.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which lost 2.98% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.587 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.98% or 0.016 points to end at 0.521 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) shed 2.56% or 0.030 points to 1.140.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which rose 8.00% to 2.70, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was up 5.93% to settle at 1.430 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 4.65% to close at 6.30.
The worst performers were Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was down 5.00% to 0.7600 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 3.57% to settle at 0.540 and National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 2.95% to 4.600 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 9 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.76% or 0.81 to $45.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.84% or 0.88 to hit $47.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 3.45 to trade at $1340.65 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED fell 0.05% to 4.1308.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.25.
