Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Real Estate & Construction and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.66%, while the ADX General index lost 1.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA), which rose 9.11% or 0.041 points to trade at 0.491 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 3.10% or 0.020 points to end at 0.665 and Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) was up 1.18% or 0.060 points to 5.160 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which lost 3.55% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.435 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.26% or 0.006 points to end at 0.260 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) shed 2.13% or 0.040 points to 1.840.
The top performers on the ADX General were Union Natl Bk (AD:UNB) which rose 11.74% to 4.950, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 3.17% to settle at 1.300 and Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which gained 1.44% to close at 4.220.
The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 6.23% to 3.610 in late trade, Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which lost 4.62% to settle at 7.63 and First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC (AD:FAB) which was down 2.76% to 14.10 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 rose and 12 declined, while 2 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.29% or 0.90 to $68.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.96% or 0.75 to hit $77.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1199.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.07% to 4.2575.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.38.
