Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.47%, while the ADX General index fell 1.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 2.30% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.780 at the close. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) added 1.23% or 0.005 points to end at 0.410 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was up 1.01% or 0.010 points to 1.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which lost 5.14% or 0.090 points to trade at 1.660 in late trade. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 4.55% or 0.030 points to end at 0.629 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) shed 4.55% or 0.110 points to 2.310.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) which rose 12.83% to 5.19, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 3.03% to settle at 0.6800 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which gained 3.01% to close at 1.370.
The worst performers were Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was down 9.70% to 2.70 in late trade, National Takaful Co PJSC (AD:WATA) which lost 8.70% to settle at 0.42 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 5.36% to 1.060 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 12 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 11 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.41% or 1.00 to $69.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.21% or 0.92 to hit $75.25 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.40 to trade at $1309.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.49% to 4.3582.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 92.97.
