Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Transport, Services and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.23% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index fell 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 6.59% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.940 at the close. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) added 1.85% or 0.050 points to end at 2.760 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 1.77% or 0.020 points to 1.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which lost 2.88% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.010 in late trade. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 2.44% or 0.020 points to end at 0.800 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) shed 2.38% or 0.023 points to 0.945.
The top performers on the ADX General were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which rose 15.00% to 1.150, United Arab Bk (AD:UAB) which was up 13.07% to settle at 1.730 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 4.37% to close at 4.30.
The worst performers were Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was down 6.35% to 2.80 in late trade, Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which lost 3.33% to settle at 2.900 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 2.27% to 0.860 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 12 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.24% or 0.81 to $64.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.34% or 0.92 to hit $67.66 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 1.10 to trade at $1336.20 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.47% to 4.5556.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 89.45.
