Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index added 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 5.79% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.010 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 2.88% or 0.040 points to end at 1.430 and Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) was up 2.56% or 0.100 points to 4.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC), which lost 6.67% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.800 in late trade. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 1.55% or 0.030 points to end at 1.900 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) shed 1.20% or 0.100 points to 8.200.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 2.70% to 0.760, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was up 2.56% to settle at 0.8000 and Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which gained 2.17% to close at 0.470.
The worst performers were Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which was down 3.03% to 4.80 in late trade, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which lost 1.57% to settle at 1.250 and Union Cement (AD:UCC) which was down 1.56% to 1.260 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 26 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 rose and 9 declined, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.36% or 0.71 to $51.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.39% or 0.81 to hit $57.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 5.92 to trade at $1288.92 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.34% to 4.3447.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 93.09.
