Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.75%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 2.82% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.820 at the close. Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) added 2.19% or 0.130 points to end at 6.070 and Emaar Development PJSC (DU:EMAARDEV) was up 2.06% or 0.110 points to 5.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which lost 5.15% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.290 in late trade. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 2.26% or 0.016 points to end at 0.691 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) shed 0.96% or 0.010 points to 1.030.
The top performers on the ADX General were National Takaful Co PJSC (AD:WATA) which rose 8.33% to 0.52, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was up 5.88% to settle at 0.720 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which gained 2.78% to close at 2.220.
The worst performers were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which was down 9.62% to 0.940 in late trade, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which lost 3.15% to settle at 4.30 and Emirates Ins C (AD:EIC) which was down 2.78% to 7.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 fell and 7 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.12% or 0.71 to $64.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.23% or 0.83 to hit $68.25 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.40 to trade at $1315.30 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.29% to 4.5090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 89.76.
