Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Insurance and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC), which rose 4.06% or 0.160 points to trade at 4.100 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) added 3.33% or 0.240 points to end at 7.450 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 2.46% or 0.190 points to 7.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL), which lost 3.89% or 0.170 points to trade at 4.200 in late trade. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) declined 2.94% or 0.180 points to end at 5.950 and Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) shed 2.55% or 0.21 points to 8.02.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 194 to 135 and 80 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.75 to $1264.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $50.57 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.15 to trade at $51.53 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.91% to 3.0880, while EUR/TRY rose 0.30% to 3.3563.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 98.75.
