Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Telecoms and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 3.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 6.03% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.230 at the close. ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) added 5.20% or 0.450 points to end at 9.100 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) was up 2.97% or 0.080 points to 2.770 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS), which lost 13.42% or 0.400 points to trade at 2.580 in late trade. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 7.53% or 0.210 points to end at 2.580 and CarrefourSA Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) shed 7.45% or 0.33 points to 4.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 308 to 75 and 24 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1223.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 4.27% or 2.44 to hit $54.76 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.09% or 2.73 to trade at $64.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.60% to 5.3981, while EUR/TRY rose 1.22% to 6.1636.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 96.41.
