Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Transport and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Cam Sanayi AS (IS:ANACM), which rose 3.58% or 0.110 points to trade at 3.180 at the close. Soda Sanayi AS (IS:SODA) added 2.96% or 0.210 points to end at 7.300 and Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO) was up 2.38% or 0.040 points to 1.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS), which lost 8.65% or 11.90 points to trade at 125.60 in late trade. Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT) declined 7.06% or 0.940 points to end at 12.380 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 6.45% or 0.020 points to 0.290.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 289 to 79 and 38 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.09% or 1.10 to $1225.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.94% or 0.58 to hit $61.09 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.55 to trade at $71.52 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.78% to 5.4578, while EUR/TRY rose 1.93% to 6.2491.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 96.06.
