Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Information Technology and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which rose 19.94% or 0.680 points to trade at 4.090 at the close. Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN) added 2.54% or 0.050 points to end at 2.020 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was up 1.93% or 0.140 points to 7.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bizim Toptan Satis Magazalari AS (IS:BIZIM), which lost 4.57% or 0.36 points to trade at 7.51 in late trade. Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) declined 4.44% or 1.58 points to end at 34.00 and Alarko Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:ALGYO) shed 3.91% or 2.20 points to 54.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 325 to 52 and 28 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.46% or 6.20 to $1330.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.61% or 0.39 to hit $63.76 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.92% or 0.62 to trade at $67.00 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.31% to 3.7787, while EUR/TRY fell 0.49% to 4.6658.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 89.72.
