Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Telecoms and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA), which rose 11.45% or 0.410 points to trade at 3.990 at the close. Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) added 9.18% or 0.180 points to end at 2.140 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) was up 7.18% or 0.700 points to 10.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM), which lost 8.24% or 0.53 points to trade at 5.90 in late trade. Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC) declined 7.31% or 0.190 points to end at 2.410 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) shed 4.03% or 0.39 points to 9.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 201 to 141 and 62 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.31% or 4.00 to $1303.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.35% or 1.57 to hit $68.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.48% or 1.87 to trade at $77.36 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.76% to 4.4688, while EUR/TRY fell 0.69% to 5.2140.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.83% at 94.02.
