Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which rose 5.65% or 6.40 points to trade at 119.60 at the close. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) added 4.28% or 2.40 points to end at 58.50 and Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) was up 4.17% or 0.28 points to 7.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which lost 3.66% or 0.180 points to trade at 4.740 in late trade. SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) declined 3.04% or 0.240 points to end at 7.650 and Turkiye Petrol Rafinerileri AS (IS:TUPRS) shed 2.82% or 3.40 points to 117.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 213 to 127 and 62 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1266.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.61% or 0.93 to hit $56.69 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 0.84 to trade at $62.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 3.8545, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 4.5470.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 93.52.
