Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Basic Metals and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.83% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vakif Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:VKGYO), which rose 11.59% or 0.190 points to trade at 1.830 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) added 8.21% or 0.61 points to end at 8.04 and Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) was up 4.21% or 16.80 points to 416.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD), which lost 6.02% or 0.200 points to trade at 3.120 in late trade. Bizim Toptan Satis Magazalari AS (IS:BIZIM) declined 5.22% or 0.36 points to end at 6.54 and Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL) shed 5.08% or 0.500 points to 9.350.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 214 to 133 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.14% or 1.70 to $1231.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.40% or 0.93 to hit $67.36 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.58 to trade at $77.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.24% to 5.6731, while EUR/TRY fell 1.94% to 6.4652.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 96.14.
