Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Telecoms and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.63% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 4.63% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.130 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) added 4.38% or 0.30 points to end at 7.15 and Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) was up 4.32% or 0.060 points to 1.450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which lost 19.96% or 1.800 points to trade at 7.220 in late trade. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 8.74% or 0.180 points to end at 1.880 and Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) shed 5.31% or 1.14 points to 20.34.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 208 to 152 and 45 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.40% or 5.00 to $1246.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.01% or 0.52 to hit $50.95 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.09 to trade at $60.19 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.26% to 5.3785, while EUR/TRY rose 0.48% to 6.0983.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 96.683.
