Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS:AFYON), which rose 14.25% or 0.66 points to trade at 5.29 at the close. Bagfas Bandirma Gubre Fabrikalari AS (IS:BAGFS) added 5.71% or 0.29 points to end at 5.37 and Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) was up 5.43% or 0.070 points to 1.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which lost 4.11% or 0.36 points to trade at 8.39 in late trade. Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) declined 4.09% or 0.61 points to end at 14.30 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) shed 3.91% or 0.100 points to 2.460.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 207 to 150 and 49 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.63% or 7.80 to $1220.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.89% or 0.46 to hit $52.09 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.09% or 0.66 to trade at $61.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.57% to 5.2777, while EUR/TRY rose 0.25% to 5.9626.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 97.295.
