Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding AS (IS:DOHOL), which rose 19.23% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.240 at the close. Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) added 15.65% or 0.230 points to end at 1.700 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) was up 5.30% or 0.750 points to 14.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER), which lost 4.14% or 0.94 points to trade at 21.76 in late trade. Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) declined 2.78% or 1.04 points to end at 36.32 and Bizim Toptan Satis Magazalari AS (IS:BIZIM) shed 2.54% or 0.21 points to 8.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 232 to 122 and 54 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.67% or 22.20 to $1349.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.99% or 1.28 to hit $65.58 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.84% or 1.27 to trade at $70.18 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.75% to 3.9645, while EUR/TRY rose 1.18% to 4.9018.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 89.08.
