Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM), which rose 5.88% or 0.31 points to trade at 5.58 at the close. Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) added 5.63% or 0.200 points to end at 3.750 and Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS) was up 3.75% or 0.96 points to 26.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC), which lost 2.31% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.540 in late trade. Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) declined 2.25% or 0.050 points to end at 2.170 and Afyon Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS:AFYON) shed 2.23% or 0.14 points to 6.13.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 252 to 114 and 43 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.31% or 3.90 to $1254.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.08% or 0.79 to hit $73.73 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.36 to trade at $77.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.36% to 4.5761, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 5.3739.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 93.80.
