Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Holdings & Investments and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Brisa Bridgestone Sabanci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BRISA), which rose 6.08% or 0.40 points to trade at 6.98 at the close. Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB) added 3.60% or 0.23 points to end at 6.62 and Kordsa Global Endustriyel Iplik ve Kord Bezi Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KORDS) was up 3.59% or 0.34 points to 9.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which lost 7.71% or 0.86 points to trade at 10.29 in late trade. Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) declined 5.46% or 0.100 points to end at 1.730 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) shed 5.39% or 2.70 points to 47.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 225 to 123 and 55 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.50% or 6.00 to $1199.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.62% or 0.45 to hit $71.83 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.24 to trade at $81.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.14% to 6.0913, while EUR/TRY fell 1.27% to 7.1634.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.81.
