Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Insurance and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which rose 8.27% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.440 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) added 7.58% or 0.100 points to end at 1.420 and Parsan (IS:PARSN) was up 6.37% or 0.500 points to 8.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN), which lost 6.62% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.410 in late trade. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) declined 4.35% or 0.030 points to end at 0.660 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) shed 2.98% or 0.27 points to 8.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 191 to 145 and 76 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.75% or 21.60 to $1256.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.23% or 1.33 to hit $42.52 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.82% or 1.21 to trade at $44.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.47% to 2.8277, while EUR/TRY rose 0.10% to 3.2168.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 93.98.
