Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Basic Metals and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.06% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which rose 6.32% or 0.91 points to trade at 15.30 at the close. SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) added 3.67% or 0.250 points to end at 7.070 and Vestel Beyaz Esya Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESBE) was up 3.47% or 0.370 points to 11.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DO & Co AG (IS:DOCO), which lost 7.68% or 14.90 points to trade at 179.10 in late trade. Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) declined 3.82% or 0.260 points to end at 6.540 and Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN) shed 3.38% or 0.250 points to 7.150.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 204 to 144 and 56 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.55 to $1283.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $51.93 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.14 to trade at $58.02 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.22% to 3.6742, while EUR/TRY rose 0.29% to 4.3277.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.40.
