Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Metals and Leasing & Factoring sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which rose 6.73% or 1.50 points to trade at 23.78 at the close. Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) added 4.60% or 2.75 points to end at 62.55 and Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) was up 3.26% or 0.030 points to 0.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which lost 8.57% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.320 in late trade. Banvit Bandirma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi AS (IS:BANVT) declined 3.83% or 0.430 points to end at 10.800 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) shed 3.25% or 0.48 points to 14.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 224 to 123 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.63% or 7.95 to $1277.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.73% or 1.74 to hit $44.87 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 3.33% or 1.84 to trade at $53.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.00% to 5.2803, while EUR/TRY rose 0.60% to 6.0320.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 96.225.
