Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Holdings & Investments, Food & Beverages and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which rose 17.02% or 0.160 points to trade at 1.100 at the close. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) added 6.45% or 1.19 points to end at 19.65 and Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) was up 5.93% or 0.080 points to 1.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which lost 3.85% or 0.210 points to trade at 5.240 in late trade. Bagfas Bandirma Gubre Fabrikalari AS (IS:BAGFS) declined 2.51% or 0.18 points to end at 6.99 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) shed 2.19% or 0.10 points to 4.46.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 214 to 119 and 74 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.80 to $1217.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.82% or 2.64 to hit $66.53 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.40% or 2.54 to trade at $72.11 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.20% to 5.2917, while EUR/TRY rose 1.18% to 6.1408.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.03.
