Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Telecoms and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari TAS (IS:EREGL), which rose 4.25% or 0.450 points to trade at 11.040 at the close. Ege Endustri ve Ticaret AS (IS:EGEEN) added 4.05% or 12.40 points to end at 318.40 and ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT) was up 4.04% or 0.160 points to 4.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO), which lost 5.56% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.680 in late trade. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 3.37% or 0.150 points to end at 4.300 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 2.44% or 0.010 points to 0.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 206 to 151 and 52 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 1.10 to $1226.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.22% or 0.15 to hit $67.31 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.25 to trade at $72.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.14% to 4.7987, while EUR/TRY fell 0.24% to 5.5929.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 94.81.
