Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Leasing & Factoring, Technology and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which rose 7.14% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.050 at the close. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) added 5.20% or 2.65 points to end at 53.65 and Koc Holding AS (IS:KCHOL) was up 5.12% or 0.72 points to 14.79 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR), which lost 5.15% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.290 in late trade. Afyon Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS:AFYON) declined 4.91% or 0.26 points to end at 5.03 and Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) shed 4.11% or 0.86 points to 20.04.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 186 to 179 and 43 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.11% or 1.30 to $1218.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.67% or 0.86 to hit $50.70 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 1.06 to trade at $59.34 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.09% to 5.2636, while EUR/TRY fell 0.19% to 5.9398.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 97.407.
