Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR), which rose 5.56% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.280 at the close. Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) added 4.97% or 0.780 points to end at 16.480 and Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) was up 4.45% or 0.130 points to 3.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN), which lost 6.69% or 0.660 points to trade at 9.200 in late trade. Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) declined 4.92% or 1.86 points to end at 35.98 and Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR) shed 4.85% or 6.30 points to 123.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 178 to 173 and 55 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.46% or 6.10 to $1341.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.90% or 0.58 to hit $63.92 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.52 to trade at $68.00 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.72% to 3.7529, while EUR/TRY fell 0.31% to 4.6750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 88.73.
