Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Excel Cell (TW:2483), which rose 10.00% or 1.90 points to trade at 20.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Giantplus (TW:8105) added 9.94% or 1.65 points to end at 18.25 and Tripod Tech (TW:3044) was up 7.39% or 3.80 points to 55.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wei Chih Steel (TW:2028), which fell 10.00% or 0.23 points to trade at 2.07 at the close. J Touch (TW:3584) declined 10.00% or 0.82 points to end at 7.38 and Li Cheng (TW:4426) was down 8.58% or 18.50 points to 197.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 570 to 263 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Giantplus (TW:8105) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 9.94% or 1.65 to 18.25.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.54% or 0.23 to $44.10 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $48.02 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.38% or 4.10 to trade at $1092.20 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.43% to 32.688, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.1933.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 99.15.
