Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Auto and Rubber sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Candmark (TW:5259), which rose 9.63% or 0.18 points to trade at 2.05 at the close. Mosel (TW:2342) added 8.63% or 0.24 points to end at 3.02 and Shuttle (TW:2405) was up 8.43% or 0.75 points to 9.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Faraday Tech (TW:3035), which lost 10.00% or 4.20 points to trade at 37.80 in late trade. Hsin Ba Ba (TW:9906) declined 9.97% or 1.80 points to end at 16.25 and Siward Crystal (TW:2484) shed 9.47% or 1.80 points to 17.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 440 to 309 and 101 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.79% or 0.35 to $43.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.53% or 0.24 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.66% or 8.45 to trade at $1280.75 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 32.413, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2003.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 93.69.
