Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Formosa Sumco (TW:3532), which rose 9.93% or 3.50 points to trade at 38.75 at the close. Kpt Industries (TW:1805) added 8.70% or 0.48 points to end at 6.00 and Action Eltr (TW:3024) was up 8.29% or 0.600 points to 7.840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Infodisc Tech (TW:2491), which lost 7.25% or 0.57 points to trade at 7.29 in late trade. Honmyue Enter (TW:1474) declined 4.70% or 0.55 points to end at 11.15 and Swancor Holding Co Ltd (TW:3708) shed 4.56% or 3.40 points to 71.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 442 to 298 and 122 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.68% or 0.32 to $47.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.91% or 0.44 to hit $49.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.55% or 6.95 to trade at $1280.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 31.552, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2149.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 98.42.
