Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Electricity and Biotech & Medical Care sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 2.44% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Jenn Feng New Energy Co Ltd (TW:1538), which rose 6.36% or 0.34 points to trade at 5.69 at the close. BizLink Holding Inc (TW:3665) added 6.06% or 9.00 points to end at 157.50 and Chung Hwa Pulp Corp (TW:1905) was up 2.79% or 0.25 points to 9.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Silergy Corp (TW:6415), which lost 10.00% or 41.00 points to trade at 369.00 in late trade. Faraday Technology Corp (TW:3035) declined 10.00% or 3.60 points to end at 32.40 and Tainergy Tech Co Ltd (TW:4934) shed 10.00% or 0.52 points to 4.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 823 to 49 and 27 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.45% or 0.30 to $66.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.45% or 0.34 to hit $75.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.69% or 8.50 to trade at $1239.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.07% to 30.973, while TWD/CNY rose 0.22% to 0.2244.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.98.
