Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Rubber and Semiconductor sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Pharmally International Holding Co Ltd (TW:6452), which rose 10.00% or 12.50 points to trade at 137.50 at the close. Eastech Holding Limited (TW:5225) added 9.94% or 2.30 points to end at 25.45 and Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) was up 9.93% or 2.10 points to 23.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Asmedia Technology Inc (TW:5269), which lost 9.73% or 51.00 points to trade at 473.00 in late trade. Lida Holdings Ltd (TW:4552) declined 8.22% or 4.40 points to end at 49.10 and Primax Electronics Ltd (TW:4915) shed 7.59% or 3.00 points to 36.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 520 to 298 and 87 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $60.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $70.81 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.50 to trade at $1220.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 30.737, while TWD/CNY fell 0.04% to 0.2250.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 96.58.
