Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 1.03% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Neo Solar Power Corp (TW:3576), which rose 9.54% or 0.88 points to trade at 10.10 at the close. Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd (TW:4912) added 8.88% or 17.00 points to end at 208.50 and LIWANLI Innovation Co Ltd (TW:3054) was up 6.42% or 1.20 points to 19.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026), which lost 9.93% or 29.50 points to trade at 267.50 in late trade. Universal Microelectronics Co Ltd (TW:2413) declined 9.93% or 2.75 points to end at 24.95 and Genius Electronic Optical Co Ltd (TW:3406) shed 9.91% or 47.00 points to 427.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 676 to 154 and 80 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.42% or 0.31 to $73.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.59% or 0.46 to hit $77.78 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 4.00 to trade at $1257.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.12% to 30.542, while TWD/CNY rose 0.37% to 0.2182.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.05.
