Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.81%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Enlight Corp (TW:2438), which rose 9.94% or 0.88 points to trade at 9.73 at the close. Tah Tong Textile Co Ltd (TW:1441) added 9.91% or 0.73 points to end at 8.10 and Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) was up 9.85% or 2.95 points to 32.90 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Hai Kwang Enterprise Corp (TW:2038), which lost 6.13% or 0.95 points to trade at 14.55 in late trade. Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) declined 5.56% or 0.85 points to end at 14.45 and Quintain Steel Co Ltd (TW:2017) shed 5.46% or 0.65 points to 11.25.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 601 to 220 and 89 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.13% or 0.08 to $60.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $63.83 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.03% or 13.40 to trade at $1318.60 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 29.312, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2178.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 90.17.
