Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:3519), which rose 10.00% or 0.62 points to trade at 6.82 at the close. Danen Technology Corp (TW:3686) added 9.84% or 0.30 points to end at 3.35 and Favite Inc (TW:3535) was up 9.56% or 1.30 points to 14.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321), which lost 8.79% or 1.05 points to trade at 10.90 in late trade. Calin Technology Co Ltd (TW:4976) declined 8.69% or 2.95 points to end at 31.00 and Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:2425) shed 8.56% or 2.50 points to 26.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 582 to 212 and 106 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.78% or 1.52 to $53.11 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.50% or 0.94 to hit $61.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1227.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 30.915, while TWD/CNY rose 0.18% to 0.2246.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 96.312.
