Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Glass and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), which rose 10.00% or 5.70 points to trade at 62.70 at the close. Taimide Tech Inc (TW:3645) added 10.00% or 7.40 points to end at 81.40 and Test Research Inc (TW:3030) was up 10.00% or 5.30 points to 58.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Micro-Star International Co Ltd (TW:2377), which lost 4.71% or 4.20 points to trade at 85.00 in late trade. Pal Wonn Taiwan Co Ltd (TW:2429) declined 4.71% or 0.80 points to end at 16.20 and Tri Ocean Textile Co Ltd (TW:1472) shed 4.19% or 1.30 points to 29.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 505 to 325 and 81 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.97% or 0.60 to $61.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.73% or 0.48 to hit $64.94 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.55% or 7.30 to trade at $1324.80 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 29.287, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.2170.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 90.11.
