Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were CSBC Corp Taiwan (TW:2208), which rose 9.99% or 3.70 points to trade at 40.75 at the close. Long Chen Paper Co Ltd (TW:1909) added 9.96% or 2.50 points to end at 27.60 and Uniflex Technology Inc (TW:3321) was up 9.92% or 1.20 points to 13.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yageo Corp (TW:2327), which lost 9.97% or 93.00 points to trade at 840.00 in late trade. Darfon Electronics Corp (TW:8163) declined 9.97% or 6.30 points to end at 56.90 and Holy Stone Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3026) shed 9.91% or 22.50 points to 204.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 536 to 282 and 101 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.49% or 0.34 to $69.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.25% or 0.19 to hit $74.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 3.90 to trade at $1219.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.19% to 30.627, while TWD/CNY rose 0.27% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 94.48.
