Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Enlight Corp (TW:2438), which rose 9.94% or 0.80 points to trade at 8.85 at the close. Hai Kwang Enterprise Corp (TW:2038) added 9.93% or 1.40 points to end at 15.50 and Taiwan Chelic Corp Ltd (TW:4555) was up 9.93% or 7.00 points to 77.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Merry Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2439), which lost 6.25% or 12.00 points to trade at 180.00 in late trade. Solytech Enterprise Corp (TW:1471) declined 5.78% or 0.47 points to end at 7.66 and Jui Li Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1512) shed 3.52% or 0.45 points to 12.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 429 to 367 and 113 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.13% or 0.08 to $61.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $64.73 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.40 to trade at $1313.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.08% to 29.321, while TWD/CNY rose 0.19% to 0.2159.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 90.66.
