Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electronic Products Distribution and Computers & Peripherals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.03% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526), which rose 9.94% or 2.45 points to trade at 27.10 at the close. Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) added 9.93% or 2.05 points to end at 22.70 and Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) was up 8.01% or 1.25 points to 16.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:2516), which lost 9.97% or 0.72 points to trade at 6.50 in late trade. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) declined 9.95% or 3.00 points to end at 27.15 and Jourdeness Group Ltd (TW:4190) shed 9.63% or 6.30 points to 59.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 408 to 356 and 112 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.66% or 0.32 to $48.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.60% or 0.31 to hit $51.59 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.44 to trade at $1290.54 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 30.345, while TWD/CNY rose 0.23% to 0.2208.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 93.37.
