Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Casetek Holdings Ltd (TW:5264), which rose 10.00% or 4.20 points to trade at 46.20 at the close. Chuwa Wool Industry Co Taiwan Ltd (TW:1439) added 10.00% or 3.50 points to end at 38.50 and Tung Kai Technology Engineering Co Ltd (TW:3018) was up 9.96% or 2.65 points to 29.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Silergy Corp (TW:6415), which lost 6.98% or 30.00 points to trade at 400.00 in late trade. Ennoconn Corp (TW:6414) declined 5.93% or 13.50 points to end at 214.00 and Jean Co Ltd (TW:2442) shed 5.37% or 0.80 points to 14.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 444 to 363 and 105 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.31% or 0.22 to $72.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.31% or 0.25 to hit $81.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.50 to trade at $1226.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 30.849, while TWD/CNY rose 0.04% to 0.2245.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 94.85.
