Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil, Gas & Electricity, Electricity and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Airmate (TW:1626), which rose 9.94% or 2.60 points to trade at 28.75 at the close. Yageo Corp (TW:2327) added 9.93% or 7.40 points to end at 81.90 and Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) was up 9.87% or 2.75 points to 30.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jui Li (TW:1512), which lost 9.36% or 0.72 points to trade at 6.97 in late trade. Chung Fu (TW:1435) declined 7.59% or 0.500 points to end at 6.090 and 1St Copper Tec (TW:2009) shed 5.83% or 0.70 points to 11.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 409 to 348 and 121 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.56% or 0.30 to $53.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.50% or 0.28 to hit $55.62 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 6.50 to trade at $1233.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.05% to 30.975, while TWD/CNY fell 0.89% to 0.2221.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 101.50.
